I figured something out today - you are never too old to learn something. I learned that when you are going to complain to one of your friends, choose that friend wisely. I called my buddy Goob up in Chicago, you know to say Hi. In reality I was looking for someone to whine about the sunburn I just received whilst I was in the Caribbean - I mean I was in pain and peeling. Not only did he not want to hear about my little problem, he went on a rant about how he is now laid up in bed with back spasms because of shoveling the fourteen or so inches of snow out of his driveway.
I told him I will have to call him later, and then I went on to search my phone numbers for someone who would understand and feel sorry for me. It didn’t take long. I found another comic friend of mine who just happened to be working a cruise, and guess what? He was in the Caribbean too! Not only did he understand about sunburn, but he offered a solution to my problem, aloe vera gel. Plus he then suggested that I keep my whining to comics only – he said that people who actually work for a living will never understand. Tell me about it.
Just so you know, I am alright now. I did have to take my laptop in to get repaired - apparently aloe gel is good for sunburn, not so good for the keyboard.
Hope this finds you well, and happy that spring is just around the corner. For those of you in Phoenix and California, I will be on a six-day swing with the Homecoming folks, looking forward to seeing you there. Next week is a charity golf tournament in Jacksonville. I only do a couple of those a year so this will be fun.
Take care, and God’s Blessings,
